The Appearance of Spring

025

There was a southern gentle breeze

That softly whispered and flowed

Sifting the twigs and branches of leafless trees

In the forest and across the meadow.

Patches of wilted brown grass

Appeared here and there

As snow and ice, like broken glass,

Cracked, melted, and disappeared.

Singing birds tweeted and serenaded;

Their chirping tunes filling the tingly warm air.

While a shimmering sun displayed

More land; though still empty and bare.

Then did I not see a few blades of green?

Oh yes, I did! Thank you, Lord for the

Sweet appearance of Spring.
