Becky’s Haiku: Bird and Red

057

Blackbirds flew above my

Head; I so wished to see red

Cardinals instead.

I have just attempted yet another haiku challenge from Ronovan Writes blog using the words “bird” and “red”. I am enjoying the challenge of trying to use such seemingly different and even opposite words in such a short poem. These prompts from Ronovan can really be a challenge to the mind.  If you like poetry challenges and haiku’s then I invite you to also accept his latest challenge at this link: https://ronovanwrites.wordpress.com/2015/08/24/

I am AGAIN a day late but determined to write a post and share some neat things I found in the blogosphere:

These past several days, I found inspiration, hope, and a bit of laughter in poetry, the value of reading, scripture, and a dog named Sugar.

I found a really neat poem, Gifts of Birds, shared by Source of Inspiration:

I also found a very interesting and informative article about the value of reading shared by New3Creation Writing:

I then discovered a beautiful and comforting scripture passage shared by Looking4GodToday:

And finally I found one more very cute article about a dog named Sugar which made me smile shared by Conversations around the Tree:

I am hoping that you also find something here to lift up today!

I Hear the Birds

DCP_1008

I hear the birds singing; an unseen choir a midst the leafy branches of the swaying trees.

Their small voices are many and unique; their whistles, their chirps and their melodies

ride the quietly flowing breeze.

Their joyous songs bring sweet thoughts to my mind and a deep sense of gentle peace to

my uplifted heart. How i love to hear the birds above and may they always be near, always

present, never to depart.
