Becky’s Pantoum: On a Frigid Winter Day

021903_0850[00]

On a frigid winter day

I peered into the brilliant blue sky;

Twas a rainbow in vivid lemon array

Stretching far and reaching high.

I peered into the brilliant blue sky

Feeling a sharp blustery breeze

Stretching far and reaching high

Over the pines and leafless trees.

Feeling a sharp blustery breeze

In the midst of this frozen land.

Over the pines and leafless trees

Ice crystals reflecting and refracting the sun.

In the midst of this frozen land

Twas a rainbow in vivid lemon array:

Ice crystals reflecting and refracting the sun

On a frigid winter day.

Immersed in AUTUMN

452

Acorns dropping from the old oak trees
Uncovered and bare branches sway in the chilly breeze
Thick needled pines remain a deep hunter green
Untouched by time and the approaching winter season
Maple, elms, ash, and birch all sway and soon follow suit
Now changing hues and peaking as their leaves drift upon my shoes.

AUTUMN is Here

476

Aromatic leaves tumble in the air
Undressed trees now stand naked and bare
Towering pines remain forever green
Upholding their resolve to brighten this bleak scene
Mild breezes turn bitter, frigid cold
Now winter is a coming; we have been foretold!
