Becky’s Haiku: Warmth of the Sun

456

As I reach to feel the sun’s warmth,

I vie to instill it in my heart.

I have just attempted another haiku challenge from Ronovan Writes blog.  In this challenge we were asked to use the words “reach” and “vie”. If you like poetry and haiku’s then I invite you to also accept his challenge at this link: https://ronovanwrites.wordpress.com/tag/haiku-challenge/

Becky’s Haiku: Foul and Sweet

023

Foul Wind! Stay away!

Let me enjoy a warm day

Touched by Sun’s sweet rays.

I tried a challenge to write a haiku using the words foul and sweet.  For those of you who enjoy haiku challenges, here is the link for this particular haiku: https://ronovanwrites.wordpress.com/tag/haiku-challenge/

Gazing at the STARLIGHTS

003

Sun has silently dipped down and

Twilight has gently dawned

Across shadowy fields and the darkened horizon.

Revealing very soon while encircling the pale moon

Lights, minute and sparkling; a tuneless melody

In the clear, wintry night sky.

Glowing, glittering gems resting beneath

Heaven’s vast midnight canopy

Touching our souls and whispering tenderly,

Sleep in peace and quiet hope tonight.”

Edge of the Forest

014

Slender birches and elms tower in the blue lit sky

Quietly displaying their dainty green leaves

As their long armed branches silently

Wave In the gently blowing breeze.

A lone songbird chirps and sings deep

In the quietly sprawling woods

A sad and lonely melody which perhaps

No neighboring creature understood.

Like a dampened sponge, the lush grass green

Grass sinks beneath my bare, sunbathed feet.

As the sun’s warm and transparent rays

Wrap my arms while tinting my face and cheeks.

The  soft aroma of sun warmed pines, wildflowers and

other woodsy scents drift with the quiet breeze.

Such a tranquil and peaceful, summery day

Just sitting by this swaying forest of trees.
