the field; vision sweet touches
the faint heart with peace.

Becky’s Haiku: Touching the Heart
Let Me Hear
Let me hear again your sweet voice
and the subtle sound of your gentle laughter.
Oh, to again see your smiling face would
fill my heart with awe and wonder.
And to once more take a quiet stroll
together along the old field road
while enjoying the quietness of the eve
as blows a soft summer breeze.
Oh, to also sit quietly by your side
while the day peacefully transforms to night.
Soaking in the warmth of your love
as tender moments silently slip by.
How I wish I would have known
that was the last time we would speak on the phone
Chatting away below that silent, watchful moon;
How I regret hanging up too soon.
The only comfort I now have is
a picture in my heart and soul
of you living a wondrous life
tending to the Lord’s beautiful garden
in the realms of God’s heavenly kingdom.
Happy Mother’s Day
to you, Mom,
living in glory and splendor of Heaven
At First
At first, the sun ascended the winter sky.
the day then declared, banishing the dark;
the deep hours of persistent night.
At first, the new snow fallen sparkled
under the light of the shining sun
as if brilliant diamonds were
dispersed in the white frozen surface.
And soon a solitary hare and a squirrel
jumped and ran about on a
creation of ways that interweave
across the ice-crusted pale ground.
At first the oaks, the elm trees,
and the trees of maple,
removed bare of their clothes,
their perfumed autumn garments of resin,
stood resolute to guard this silent scene
where, in the end, there remains
a soft calmness across the ghostly drifts
of twinkled whiteness.
At first a search in the quiet mind:
the trip begins of the thoughtful one
where the heart leads the soul to a
place of relaxing peace.
In the Beginning…
In the beginning, the sun arose in the wintry sky;
as the day brightened, it chased away the deep
dark hours of the lingering night.
In the beginning, the new fallen snow sparkled
beneath the gleaming sunlight
as if glittering diamonds were
scattered on the frozen white surface.
And soon a lone hare and a squirrel
hopped and scampered about
creating crisscrossing paths
across the white barren land.
In the beginning the oaks, the elms,
and the maple trees,
stripped bare of their garments
of resin-scented autumn leaves,
stood guard over this silent scene
where, in the end, there remains
a gentle quietness across the drifts
of whiteness gleam.
In the beginning a searching
journey starts from a wistful
heart and leads the soul to a
place of restful peace.
Becky’s Haiku: Strong and Heart
Whenever I am
Hurt, God makes me strong again
And lifts my faint heart.

Ascend
Last night, I let my heart and mind
Sink low into futile depths
of hopeless misery
as the streaming sun
dipped down
Below the far-off horizon;
under the darkened forest
Of resin-scented trees.
But today, I awoke and did rise
To watch that ancient orb of light
Climb steadily upward
filling the sapphire sky
over the same forest now
Richly crowned in brilliant jewels:
Golden, amber, and hints of
Ruby red autumn leaves.
So, with a prayer to the Lord,
Creator of heaven and earth,
And hope I heard from
his everlasting word,
I let my mind and heart
ascend
to the awesome
heights and wonders of
God’s never-ending kingdom:
Filled with His
Glory, splendor, and majesty.
Why should my Heart be full of Cheer?
As I gazed at a fluorescent blue sky
Where no stormy clouds appeared
And the orbed sun had journeyed high.
Twas a silent blustery wind but dry
And no wafting sounds could I hear
As I gazed at the fluorescent blue sky.
No birds to witness nor bee or fly;
Also, no ominous foreboding to fear
And the orbed sun had journeyed high.
I then began to wonder why
My heart should be full of cheer
As I gazed at a fluorescent blue sky.
While my eyes upward climbed
Into that lofty, arid atmosphere
And the orbed sun had journeyed high.
I continued to contemplate why
My heart should be full of cheer
As I gazed at the fluorescent blue sky.
This day was bitter cold and dry
As expected this wintry time of year
And the orbed sun had journeyed high.
Draped in the cold sunlight
I stood on the land, frozen and bare,
As I gazed at the fluorescent blue sky.
Banks of snow, gleaming white
Still remain here and there
As the orbed sun had journeyed high.
I pondered and wondered why
My heart should be full cheer
As I gazed at the fluorescent blue sky.
A cold chill crept up my spine
Thanks to the frigid weather
And the orbed sun had journeyed high.
With a start, I suddenly knew why
My heart should be full of cheer
As I gazed at the fluorescent blue sky:
I realized my Lord and Savior is why
for he promises to always stay near
As I gazed and gazed at the fluorescent blue sky
And the orbed glowing sun had journeyed high.
A Christmas Poem
Kiss and taste this Christmas season;
Enjoy quiet moments with God’s Son.
Remember and keep in your heart
How God promised his Son from afar
To descend from the glory of heaven
And dwell with sinful and erring man.
He arrived as a babe born in a stable
Where a manger of hay was his cradle.
He lived on earth to teach us about heaven
Where all who believe will live with him.
Baptized and touched by a descending dove,
He came to share with us God’s never ending love.
Though he died on a cross he also rose again
And has returned to the realms of heaven.
But as the Holy Spirit, he descends
To live in the hearts of believing men.
For all who choose to joyously believe
And this eternal gift of God has gladly received,
May your heart be filled to the brim
Of everlasting Christmas blessings from Him.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
