Lesson in the Wind

Wind whistling with the

waltzing trees, lofty whispers:

eerie to perceive.

Trees swirl in rhythmic

flair as sound of the wind’s whirl

pierce the heart and air.

How the wind has such

temper to serenade us

with woeful banter.

During storms at night,

how I lay in silent fear waiting

to see morning light.

Wild shadows outside

my window unnerves me as

wind shrieks, howls, and blows.

Nothing to do in

the darkness but to be still

and quietly rest.

It’s my decision

to trust in the Lord’s plan and his

promised provision.

Or to lament and

fret instead as I cringe with

worry on my bed.

The fierce wind, though, is

a reminder of things in

life I can’t control;

need to trust in faith

to let Jesus lead the way

and gently let go.

Becky’s Haiku: Choice and Faith

Trust in the Lord or

let doubts rise and sway; faith is

a choice each new day.

Another fun haiku challenge from Ronovan! This time using the words “choice” and “faith”. If you like word challenges and haiku’s, then I invite you to also accept Ronovan’s latest challenge at this link and have fun: https://ronovanwrites.wordpress.com/category/haiku-prompt-challenge/

Walk in Faith

Walk in the firmness of faith

And not in nagging doubt;

Walk in unwavering belief

That Jesus is Lord and King.

Walk in steadfast hope

Even while climbing a slippery slope

Of troubles and tribulations

Through this earthly life’s

Wilderness and desert lands.

Walk in trust and confidence

Knowing that all the Lord’s

Plans will ultimately prevail

And that his unfathomable

 Ocean of love will never fail.

His never-ending love which can

Reach the furthest star and

Touch the bottom of the deepest sea.

And fill all the voids of earth and space;

The boundaries of his love,

No one can perceive.

Walk in sheer delight

Of God’s revealing light;

A beacon leading us the way

To the road he has prepared today.

Yes, walk in faith never doubting

That God of heaven is holy and supreme.

And that his son, Jesus is indeed

 Lord, Savior and king

Who will reign for all

Eternity;

Walk in faith.

In a Whisper of Faith

In a whisper of faith, God calms the raging storms.

In a whisper of faith, God diffuses the troubles of life;

In a whisper of faith, God instills peace amidst the strife.

In a whisper…

In a whisper of faith, God shields me from the searing heat.

In a whisper of faith, God is in the wind sifting through the trees;

In a whisper of faith, God surrounds me in a cool, gentle breeze.

In a whisper…

In a whisper of faith, God protects me from the frigid, wintry cold.

In a whisper of faith, God wipes away my tears in the deep, dark night;

In a whisper of faith, God watches over me until the dawn of morning light.

In a whisper…

New dreams, opportunities, and possibilities

Every day dawn’s a new beginning

Willing to wait and live by God’s love, mercy, and grace.

Yesterday is gone but lessons and memories remain.

Each bright morning is a treasured gift; each starlit evening a cherished blessing

Already looking forward in solid and steadfast faith

Ready to continue this life journey on the path of hope and grace.

Becky’s Haiku: Shattered Dreams

695

When dreams are shattered

And broken, keep in firm faith

And dare to hope again.

I have attempted yet another haiku challenge from Ronovan Writes blog using the words “dream” and “dare”. I am enjoying the challenge of putting different and even opposite words in such a short poem.  If you like word challenges and haiku’s then I invite you to also accept Ronovan’s latest challenge at this link: https://ronovanwrites.wordpress.com/category/haiku-prompt-challenge/

Becky’s Freku: Though the Path be Dark Today

img_20160420_100257563

In the cloud-filled, dreariness of this day,

While the sunlight be dim along the way,

With Jesus I can still walk in faith

Though the path be dark today.

Although troubles brew and haunt my soul

And I feel empty and lacking a life purpose or goal,

With Jesus I can still walk by faith

Though the path be dark today.

As the rain drizzles outside

And in my house I just want to hide,

With Jesus I can still walk by faith

Though the path be dark today.

Even as I awake in clouds of doubt

Wondering what my life is really about,

With Jesus I can still walk by faith

Though the path be dark today.

As I gingerly step outside in fear

Wondering what new obstacles may appear,

With Jesus I can still walk by faith

Though the path be dark today.

Believing the sun will shine again

Evaporating the clouds and drizzling rain,

With Jesus I can still walk by faith

Though the path be dark today.

Choosing to trust that he is my light

Who helps me to see in the darkest night,

With Jesus I can still walk by faith

Though the path be dark today.

Yeah! With Jesus, I

still walk by faith though my path

is darkened today.

Return of the Black-eyed Susan

IMG_20160707_115350838

She had returned once again:

That Black-eyed Susan, my friend.

Resting in the tall, wild grass;

Lemon beauty lass.

Every summer

I watch for her; her simple

Beauty I treasure.

In the grass along

The road; she blooms also in

A hidden meadow.

Each year I search til

I see her golden face so

Familiar to me.

Something about this

Flower causes me to pause,

Think and to ponder.

I find her every

Year like a friend who stays

Close by; so near.

Through the years, life will

Progress to eternity.

And it is by faith

That I learn to be quiet

And patiently wait.

 She then reminds me

That although it can

Be hard to see I must choose

To live peacefully.

Choosing peacefulness

And quietness is hard when

I want to be heard.

But most soothingly

I’m reminded that God hears

My prayers; my every word.

So every year I

Seek her face to remember

God’s true saving grace.

And through love shown by

Him I can live each day in

Peace hidden within.

Isaiah 54: 10 (Holy Bible New International Version):

“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord who has compassion on you.
