Lesson in the Wind

Wind whistling with the

waltzing trees, lofty whispers:

eerie to perceive.

Trees swirl in rhythmic

flair as sound of the wind’s whirl

pierce the heart and air.

How the wind has such

temper to serenade us

with woeful banter.

During storms at night,

how I lay in silent fear waiting

to see morning light.

Wild shadows outside

my window unnerves me as

wind shrieks, howls, and blows.

Nothing to do in

the darkness but to be still

and quietly rest.

It’s my decision

to trust in the Lord’s plan and his

promised provision.

Or to lament and

fret instead as I cringe with

worry on my bed.

The fierce wind, though, is

a reminder of things in

life I can’t control;

need to trust in faith

to let Jesus lead the way

and gently let go.

Walk in Faith

Walk in the firmness of faith

And not in nagging doubt;

Walk in unwavering belief

That Jesus is Lord and King.

Walk in steadfast hope

Even while climbing a slippery slope

Of troubles and tribulations

Through this earthly life’s

Wilderness and desert lands.

Walk in trust and confidence

Knowing that all the Lord’s

Plans will ultimately prevail

And that his unfathomable

Ocean of love will never fail.

His never-ending love which can

Reach the furthest star and

Touch the bottom of the deepest sea.

And fill all the voids of earth and space;

The boundaries of his love,

No one can perceive.

Walk in sheer delight

Of God’s revealing light;

A beacon leading us the way

To the road he has prepared today.

Yes, walk in faith never doubting

That God of heaven is holy and supreme.

And that his son, Jesus is indeed

 Lord, Savior and king

Who will reign for all

Eternity;

Walk in faith.

PRESSING FORWARD

Pray in the morning and in the quiet interludes of the day;

Release to God all your cares and your worries along the way.

Enter and remain in God’s holy presence

Surrounded by his unchanging love and

Saturated with his all amazing grace.

Internal struggles that only he understands,

Now alleviated by his unseen yet compassionate hand.

Goodness and mercies, he has kept in store

Filter softly down in a warm sunlit shower.

Open heart and open mind to hear his word

Remembering he is God: Jesus is Savior and Lord

Who abides in you and promises to forever stay.

Advance and step now into the unknown future of this day

Remembering and trusting in him as you go;

Doubting never that God is everlastingly faithful.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (Holy Bible English Standard Version):

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean

on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge

him and he will make straight your paths.”

Becky’s Freku: Though the Path be Dark Today

img_20160420_100257563

In the cloud-filled, dreariness of this day,

While the sunlight be dim along the way,

With Jesus I can still walk in faith

Though the path be dark today.

Although troubles brew and haunt my soul

And I feel empty and lacking a life purpose or goal,

With Jesus I can still walk by faith

Though the path be dark today.

As the rain drizzles outside

And in my house I just want to hide,

With Jesus I can still walk by faith

Though the path be dark today.

Even as I awake in clouds of doubt

Wondering what my life is really about,

With Jesus I can still walk by faith

Though the path be dark today.

As I gingerly step outside in fear

Wondering what new obstacles may appear,

With Jesus I can still walk by faith

Though the path be dark today.

Believing the sun will shine again

Evaporating the clouds and drizzling rain,

With Jesus I can still walk by faith

Though the path be dark today.

Choosing to trust that he is my light

Who helps me to see in the darkest night,

With Jesus I can still walk by faith

Though the path be dark today.

Yeah! With Jesus, I

still walk by faith though my path

is darkened today.

Becky’s Haiku: Fray, Veil, and Secret

252

More frayed by trials

of life, then I veil growing

fear deep down inside.

Oh yes hidden fears

And insecurities; such

Secrets I do keep.

Like shadows in the

darkness, anxiety hides

beneath the surface.

Need to release that

Worry; let go of that fear

While to God, draw near.

Need to have faith and

Believe that He stays near to

Help and comfort me.

Remember his ways

And his love while looking to

Heaven far above.

Take his hand and let

Him lead through this new day and

His blessings receive.

When the day is done

And time to rest remember he

Stays near and knows best.

Say a prayer filled with

Sincere gratitude while he

Keeps watch over you.

I have just attempted yet another haiku challenge from Ronovan Writes blog using the words “fray” and “veil”. I am enjoying the challenge of putting different and even opposite words in such a short poem.  If you like challenges and haiku’s then I invite you to also accept his latest challenge at this link: https://ronovanwrites.wordpress.com/category/haiku-prompt-challenge/

I am also participating in a photo challenge this week with the word “secret”. To find out more about word photo challenges visit this site: https://thearanartisan.com/photo-challenge-words-2016/

Becky’s Haiku: Cheer and Call

“Trust me and remain

In good cheer,” God answers when

I call with new tears.

I have just attempted yet another haiku challenge from Ronovan Writes blog using the words “cheer” and “call”. I am enjoying the challenge of trying to use such seemingly different and even opposite words in such a short poem. Poetry 201 Assignment 3: Trust, Acrostic, and Internal Rhyme

On day 3 in my poetry 201 class, I was asked to write a new poem containing the word “trust”, using an acrostic and internal rhyme. I must admit, this is getting more challenging but I think I did. Do you think I accomplished the assignment? Here is my new poem:

039

Looking into the FUTURE

Forward gazing into the

Unexplored and unknown.

Trusting and embracing that

Unfilled hopes will soon become

Realized dreams at the end of

Enduring determination, my dear friend.

Friday Verse Journal Isaiah 26:3-4

I

Life has been busy and I have missed many days of posting. Right now, I am looking up and trying to keep trusting Jesus:

Holy Bible (English Standard Version):

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”

Trying To Trust God Today

046

I’m trying to trust God today and not rush in anything I do or say.

Such a challenging thing to do, to just trust, believe and to God stay true.

So many times, I just won’t believe, if one mishap occurs, I fail so miserably.

I fail to stop, pray and wait for God to show me which path to take.

I fail to pause and quietly listen to the loving and guiding words coming from him.

When trouble does suddenly brew, I tense up tight wondering, “What should I do?”

In my anxious and frantic state I might cry out, “Now, what? Who made this mistake?”

So I fume to God’s dismay refusing his tender nudge to accept his wiser way.

So often I fail to understand God’s love and his gentle guiding hand.

I fail to joyfully gaze and see, his fatherly eyes silently watching me.

I fail to believe and know that he’s determined where my path should go.

I fail to sit so quietly and just let his perfect calming peace come rest in me.

But today, I am trying hard to keep my eyes closely focused on the Lord

Therefore I am trying to trust God today and not rush in anything I do or say.
