Everlasting FREEDOM

Easter Cross

Forever and ever we are free;

Rebirth in Christ through saving belief.

Everlasting and new life;

Eternal home in the vast heavenly sky.

Destined by grace to reside eternally with him;

Owed to Jesus who humbly died for our sins.

Made to persevere, to hope, and to dream

In life, in love, and everlasting liberty.

FOCUSED HEART

015

Futuristic and hopeful vision

Of our eternal home in heaven.

Centered life upon our savior Jesus;

Unselifishly, he died to save us.

Seeds of new life and peace from above

Entered and sprinkled our inner souls with love.

Delivered and planted by our Lord.

Harvested in faith by believing His Word.

Every day we can pray, worship, and celebrate

At the amazing glory of his saving grace.

Rescued and redeemed to live with him forever

Today, tomorrow, and ever after.

The Christmas Tree

Although late, I still want to share a new Christmas poem. I hope everyone who is reading this has had a wonderful and blessed Christmas:

Carefully placed and standing where all can see

Heralding angel poised above the pine needle green.

Rows of colorful lights brighten the scene

Infused and trimmed by love unseen.

Stars, snowflakes, and bulbs adorn the limbs

Trustfully reminding us of him and the

Manger scene where he was born;

Arriving long ago on Christmas morn.

Shepherds heard and flocked to see the sight;

Taught by angels who appeared in a great light.

Remembering and honoring many years later

Eventual arrival of the Lord Jesus, our Savior;

Everlasting King who will rule forever and ever.

You are the Everlasting Lord

695

You are the everlasting Lord;

You make the sun rise

And hover in the vaulted blue sky.

You are the everlasting Lord;

You paint the glowing pink sunset

And let me know it is time to rest.

You are the Everlasting Lord:

You brighten each day with your light

Showing me which path to take; which way is right.

You are the everlasting Lord;

You are Creator of the heavens and earth

And each spring you create new life and give us rebirth.

You are the everlasting Lord;

You created the flowers and the trees

And pave the path for my daily journey.

You are the everlasting Lord;

You continue to watch from the heavens above

And live in my heart and instill me with your love.

You are the everlasting Lord:

You generously provide all that I need

As I trek through this world to my final destiny.

You are the everlasting Lord:

You watch over me as I sleep at night;

You stay by my side in case I awake in tears or fright.

You are the everlasting Lord;

You give us a heavenly view and new hope

Through the lens of your word; your own telescope.

You are the everlasting Lord:

You save and forgive me for all that I have done wrong

And wait to welcome me in heaven with praise and song.

You are the everlasting Lord;

Reigning forever and ever,

You are Lord.

SAFE HAVEN

055

Secret hiding place

Amid the moments of darkened days.

Flowing with love and peace;

Eternal and everlasting.

Holy Spirit hovering near

And gently wiping away our tears.

Void in heart now filled with Jesus

Ever present; ever with us.

Never letting go;

keeping us forever beneath his shadow.

The Dilemma of the Black Eyed Susan

I used to travel along an old field road

Journeying contentedly and all alone.

My sneaker clad or sandaled feet

Followed a sandy lane to the rows of trees.

The grass was olive green as I passed the hay

And acres of corn along the way.

But the favorite sight that caused me to pause and sigh

Were the yellow daisies with deep, black eyes.

There was something special, something unique

About the black-eyed Susan’s slender physique

Other daisies grew there, I had no doubt

As yellow and white, they dotted my route.

But this daisy was different, I thought with a sigh

While contemplating about the flower with a black eye.

It stood tall and alone in the grassy field

Wanting to be noticed, but with timidity remained concealed.

Oh, that lemon tinted bloom with a black eye

Waving in the wind, beneath the summer sunshine.

What hidden tenderness you softly convey

On this hazy and warm summer day

You dare to be different from the rest

You determine to remain alone and not impress

Anyone else who this way may wander

Nor cause them to pause and internally ponder.

But when I wander by; when I pass through,

I silently notice you, standing erect and true.

You do not bend to the grass or weeds

You’re not apt to follow another’s lead.

Instead you remain poised and pointing to the sky

Where the loving Lord lives and watches on high.

You don’t mind remaining forever alone

Until you wilt and your short life here is done.

You know and accept your part, for God has a plan;

A purpose for you and for us all. If I could just understand

If I could just be truly content and be sure

Knowing that in Jesus, my life is indeed safe and secure.

For I have asked Jesus to live forever in my heart

And he has dwelled in me promising to never depart.

But I don’t comprehend everything; I don’t know God’s entire plan

So I wander aimlessly from one day to the next seeking to understand.

But somehow I know just to remain content and steadfastly true

Remembering God’s love endures forever for me and for you.

That is good enough for you to know, the Lord seems to gently say

The answer of the blacked eyed Susan’s dilemma is to just faithfully stay;

Remain still knowing that God’s love is forever, eternally, the same

For today, tomorrow, and for all of your yesterdays which already came.

Romans 8:28 (Holy Bible New International Version):

“And we know that in all things God works for the good for those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

I

Life has been busy and I have missed many days of posting. Right now, I am looking up and trying to keep trusting Jesus:

183

Holy Bible (English Standard Version):

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”
