When LOVE RAINS

IMG_20160420_100034375

Lingering raindrops in the grayish sky

Overcast with a sheet of clouds drifting by.

Venturing out on a dark and dreary day

Ever wishing for the clouds to dissipate.

Remembering just then that God has a plan

As Jesus, his only Son, he did send.

Inflicted and laden with all my wickedness;

Not hesitating, he suffered and died for my sinfulness.

So like the rain covering the grass, he came to hold me steadfast.

Therefore as the droplets fall and cling to the land,

He quietly descends and  takes my hand.

Becky’s Haiku: Breathe

456

Step outside and breathe;

See the sunlit sky stretch out

Like the rolling sea.

Inhale the sweet scent

Of Spring with new grass and leaves

Vibrantly blooming.

Hear the wind blow; A

warm yet rustling breeze jostling

the tall dancing trees.

Feel the sun’s warmth as

It softly surrounds you in

It’s orange glowing hue.

Hark the song bird’s chirps

In melodious trills in

The forest and hills.

Look with hope upon

The sunrise letting it fill

Your soul searching eyes.

And let the peace of

This gentle beginning stay

In your heart resting.

May the journey of

This new day begin; a fresh

Though unearned blessing.

Savor the moments

Knowing each is fleeting and

Yet a treasured gift.

Stroll and wander on

Your way remembering this

Day that God has made.

Becky’s Haiku: Life and Path

DCP_0990

Somewhere along this

Life’s journey is the one way path

To eternity.

I have just attempted yet another haiku challenge from Ronovan Writes blog using the words “life” and “path”. I am enjoying the challenge of putting different and even opposite words in such a short poem.  If you like challenges and haiku’s then I invite you to also accept his latest challenge at this link: https://ronovanwrites.wordpress.com/category/haiku-prompt-challenge/

I am also participating in a photo challenge this week with the word “path”. To find out more about word photo challenges visit this site: https://thearanartisan.com/photo-challenge-words-2016/

In the Midst of my Storm

Pics from Camera 2-8-2015 300

When I awake upon a wintry morn

Where the temp is plummeting down

And the north wind creeps and swirls around,

Jesus is with me in the midst of my storm.

When I encounter a very long day

Where challenging tasks fill my pathway

And I work on each one by one

Jesus is with me in the midst of my storm.

When I encounter criticism and dislike

While I travel through this earthly life

And I strive to patiently overcome

Jesus is with me in the midst of my storm.

And when the sun has set and fallen

Beneath the dark and distant horizon

And the long sleepless night has begun,

Jesus with me in the midst of my storm.

And on each new day there is heavenly hope

When I read God’s word with a futuristic scope

And the worldly distractions have lessened some

Jesus  continues to stay with me when I find a place of

Peace in the midst of the storm.

Becky’s Haiku: Fray, Veil, and Secret

252

More frayed by trials

of life, then I veil growing

fear deep down inside.

Oh yes hidden fears

And insecurities; such

Secrets I do keep.

Like shadows in the

darkness, anxiety hides

beneath the surface.

Need to release that

Worry; let go of that fear

While to God, draw near.

Need to have faith and

Believe that He stays near to

Help and comfort me.

Remember his ways

And his love while looking to

Heaven far above.

Take his hand and let

Him lead through this new day and

His blessings receive.

When the day is done

And time to rest remember he

Stays near and knows best.

Say a prayer filled with

Sincere gratitude while he

Keeps watch over you.

Time’s JOURNEY

092903_1606[00]

Joy, love, and peace faithfully and patiently pursued;

Overcoming despair while inequality, and every adversity are forever  squelched and overruled.

Undergoing an enlightened transformation of the mind and heart.

Relying on the love and spirit of Christ who promises to never depart.

Never giving up but firmly taking hold of

Enduring and everlasting hope.

Yesterday and each new day gently fade

While graciously paving the way

For that ever hopeful and eternal

Tomorrow.

QUIET MIND

183

Dear Lord Jesus; as I sit and pray

On this warm and sun-filled Sunday,

Please help me to be thankful and kind

But also to have a calm and QUIET MIND:

Qualms and worries of life cease;

Unhindered and lasting peace.

Inner voice of Jesus

Ever warm and soothing within us.

Taming of my hurtful thoughts and words;

Mindful of the commandments of the Lord.

Inner change of spirit and heart

No longer focused on worldly pain and harm.

Delivered from life of sin to live forever with him.

Amen.

Misty Rose Bush

My sweet and talented cousin wrote a very beautiful haiku and wanted to share it. She is a very busy lady right now as she is working hard on her college degree and completing an internship. However, she will be struck by a creative burst of writing when time allows and so here she is in her own words:

Kathy’s Haiku: Sheltering Friends

Sheltering my friend

Like Jesus told us to do

Love I try to send.

Becky’s Haiku: Friend and Shiver

Springtime, friends, and strolls

By the river; sweet joys make

Me smile and shiver.
