Becky’s Haiku: Beneath the Moonlight

Sun fades into night;

A dark reflection appears

Beneath the moonlight.

I have just attempted yet another haiku challenge from Ronovan Writes blog using the words “sun” and “moon”. Step outside and breathe;

See the sunlit sky stretch out

Like the rolling sea.

Inhale the sweet scent

Of Spring with new grass and leaves

Vibrantly blooming.

Hear the wind blow; A

warm yet rustling breeze jostling

the tall dancing trees.

Feel the sun’s warmth as

It softly surrounds you in

It’s orange glowing hue.

Hark the song bird’s chirps

In melodious trills in

The forest and hills.

Look with hope upon

The sunrise letting it fill

Your soul searching eyes.

And let the peace of

This gentle beginning stay

In your heart resting.

May the journey of

This new day begin; a fresh

Though unearned blessing.

Savor the moments

Knowing each is fleeting and

Yet a treasured gift.

Stroll and wander on

Your way remembering this

Day that God has made.

Somewhere along this

Life’s journey is the one way path

To eternity.

Becky’s Haiku: Fray, Veil, and Secret

More frayed by trials

 of life, then I veil growing

fear deep down inside.

Oh yes hidden fears

And insecurities; such

Secrets I do keep.

Like shadows in the

darkness, anxiety hides

beneath the surface.

Need to release that

Worry; let go of that fear

While to God, draw near.

Need to have faith and

Believe that He stays near to

Help and comfort me.

Remember his ways

And his love while looking to

Heaven far above.

Take his hand and let

Him lead through this new day and

His blessings receive.

When the day is done

And time to rest remember he

Stays near and knows best.

Say a prayer filled with

Sincere gratitude while he

Keeps watch over you.

Sun is lifting and

Time to follow the plan God

Has outlined today.

Take a stroll and find

That rutted path where in the

Warm sun He awaits.

See that forest and

In those trees, find your trail

 in nature’s beauty.

Rise up and take that

 stroll; or this day’s adventure

Mountain pines towered,

Nature’s class of elegance;

Resolute and firm.

In time they’ve weathered

Through storms of wind, snow, and rain

Solid, determined.

They’re a testament

To all who journey and see

Their hidden beauty.

I have just attempted yet another haiku challenge from Ronovan Writes blog using the words “class” and “firm”. I am enjoying the challenge of putting different and even opposite words in such a short poem.  The challenge can be in just determining a suitable topic to bring the words together.  Plenty of times, I have sat here looking at a blank page just trying to think of such a subject. As lightning flashed across the dark sky,

It danced eerily in the night.
